Here we are. Gay Globe has officially surpassed the milestone of 12,000 published articles, a historic achievement that we are proud to share and celebrate with our readers, partners, and advertisers.

In fact, the 12,000-article milestone was reached several months ago. According to the GayGlobe.net statistics counter, each edition of Gay Globe Magazine is counted as a single article, even though every issue actually contains between 40 and 60 individual stories.

Regardless, this remarkable achievement is the result of a winning combination: the unwavering support of our partners and the outstanding work of an editorial team that is the pride of our media organization.

From La Revue Le Point to Gay Globe: A Story of Passion, Journalism, and Perseverance

In 1998, as the world prepared to enter a new millennium, a new publication was born in Quebec: La Revue Le Point. At a time when the Internet was still in its infancy, news was delivered primarily through print, and LGBTQ+ media outlets remained few and far between. It was an ambitious undertaking, driven by a simple but powerful mission: to provide credible, independent journalism that reflected the realities of our communities.

Over the years, the publication continued to grow. Investigative reports, exclusive interviews, and in-depth coverage of major social issues became defining features of its editorial identity. Gradually, La Revue Le Point evolved into Gay Globe, a name that reflected a broader vision: opening a window onto LGBTQ+ news, both locally and around the world.

The digital revolution marked a turning point. While many media organizations were still hesitant to embrace the Internet, Gay Globe made the transition by launching GayGlobe.net, giving readers worldwide access to reliable information in both French and English. This strategic decision significantly expanded the publication’s international reach.

Over the years, Gay Globe has reported on many of the defining moments in LGBTQ+ history, including advances in human rights, political debates, HIV-related issues, public health, arts and culture, travel, sports, influential personalities, and Pride celebrations. Every article has become another piece of a collective memory worth preserving.

Like all independent media organizations, Gay Globe has faced its share of challenges. The transformation of the newspaper industry, rapid technological change, economic crises, and the COVID-19 pandemic reshaped the media landscape. Yet one thing has never changed: our commitment to delivering journalism with integrity, independence, and professionalism.

Today, surpassing 12,000 published articles is a testament to that unwavering commitment. Behind this impressive number are thousands of hours devoted to research, writing, reporting, interviews, photography, video production, and an enduring dedication to quality journalism.

This achievement belongs to everyone who has contributed to the journey: journalists, columnists, photographers, collaborators, partners, advertisers, and, above all, the readers who have supported Gay Globe throughout the years.
