People who’ve had their nails done and other services performed at Cali Nails in White Oaks mall are being advised to get tested for HIV and Hepatitis B and C.
The Middlesex-London Health Unit said the salon has repeatedly failed infection control inspections. One client has also reportedly tested positive for a blood-borne infection.
The health unit said clients who frequented the salon between May, 2017 and January, 2018 should get a blood test.
« With what we’ve seen over the inspection history of this business, it has become necessary for us to issue this public notification, » said Mary Lou Albanese, manager of infections disease control at the MLHU.
She said the risk is low, adding it may be impossible to tell whether a positive blood test was a result of a procedure performed at the nail salon.
Cali Nails was closed for several days but has since reopened.
