In recent years we have been exposed to ideas and
concepts that may seem far from the understandable reality
of the vast majority of people. These concepts are propagated by
social networks, are then recovered by the mainstream media and
activists, and politicians talk about it on their platforms
elections as the new cultural reality. But where
do these ideas come?
During the 1960s and 1970s, the university became « liberalized » from
least in certain fields of study such as sociology,
feminism and « gay studies ». Today, research in
These areas bring to light, even reinvent, the oppression of
women, sexual and racial minorities. All bathed in
a Marxist and post-modernist sauce. In science, we use
measurable and reproducible facts. The same rigor is difficult
applicable for purely intellectual concepts, often
stripped of measurable facts. How to make sure of the veracity
and the relevance of a concept?
That’s what three academicians, James Lindsay, Peter Boghossian
and Helen Pluckrose, tried to put to the test by submitting
phony hypotheses, for publication in academic journals
reputedly, in relation to what they call the « studies of
grievances « . According to the Areo digital magazine, the authors report that
Twenty papers submitted in one year, six were rejected, seven had
were accepted, four of which were published online, and seven others were in
way to be published when, ultimately, a Wall Street reporter
Journal unveiled everything and ended their experience. The themes of
their articles fascinate: « Bodybuilding obese » because social norms
oppressive make us venerate muscle training to the detriment of obese people; « Feminist Mein Kampf », where
the authors would have used passages from the famous book of Adolf
Hitler and changed a few words to formulate a feminist theory;
« Dog Park », in which it is explained that parks for
dogs are spaces that support the « rape culture », as well as
that the systemic oppression of « oppressed dogs » by
male dogs. It is suggested to « train » men as
dogs to suppress their natural tendencies toward violence
sexual abuse and intolerance. This last article would have been chosen
by the newspaper as one of the twelve flagship articles for
his 25th birthday! You have to read the positive comments and the
editorial boards of editors and reviewers to understand
the extent of the scam.
These hoaxes are no exception: a group of young conservatives,
Young America’s Foundation produces an annual
informative list, the « report of comedy and tragedy » which
compiles, for 2018-2019, a list of 250 courses offered in
50 top-rated universities in the United States. Looking at this
list, we appreciate the title given to this report: the comedy represents
the titles and descriptions of these courses, and the tragedy is that he
costs from $ 20,000 to $ 80,000 a year to attend these
full time universities!
The authors started this project to understand and expose the
reality of these theories of the victim that they believe poison
academic research and society. But above all, they hope
that this story will allow those who are interested in a real
social justice to stand up and say, « No, I will not accept that!
You do not speak for me! «
