History of homosexuality to be taught at Turin university, Italy

The Sunday Times

The University of Turin is to teach a course on the history of homosexuality, an educational first in a Catholic country that has historically been slow to grant equal rights to gays.

The course is part of the university’s faculty of arts, music and spectacle and begins next April. Covering the cultural history of homosexuality from the 18th century to the present day, it pays particular attention to the gay rights movement of the 20th century.
