The Gay Globe Media Group was declared a « Safe Space » today, September 22, 2024, by the international organization Safe Space Alliance in the « News and Media » category.

The Safe Space Alliance is a nonprofit organization led by LGBTQI+ individuals that aims to help people identify, navigate, and create safe spaces for LGBTQI+ communities worldwide.

A safe space is a place where LGBTQI+ communities can express themselves freely without fear. It is a space that does not tolerate violence, bullying, or hate speech toward LGBTQI+ communities.

A safe space does not guarantee 100% safety, but it is a place that will have your back if an incident (violence, bullying, or hate speech) were to occur.

“When I had the opportunity to have Gay Globe Media Group recognized as a ‘Safe Space’ by this international nonprofit organization, I quickly decided to do so to fight against fake news on the web and to ensure the international community a standard of excellence in what was published by Gay Globe. We must fight daily against homophobia and violent prejudices that circulate too easily on the web, and the ‘Safe Space’ label was a logical continuation of our efforts, ensuring our readers that they will always find a welcoming space with us,” said Roger-Luc Chayer, editor of the Gay Globe Media Group.
