What could be more sad and contemptuous for the readers and especially for the advertisers of the Guide Fugues than to discover that one prints magazines that are simply in the garbage? This is what Gay Globe was able to discover quite by chance, a day of garbage collection in the Gay Village of Montreal, while dozens of boxes of Fugues, all full, containing hundreds , even thousands of copies sacrificed. The situation in itself is very shocking for advertisers who are given large bills to print the guides to contain their advertising, whereas rather than being in the hands of readers and rather than spreading, Fugues let these incredible surpluses end up in garbage cans, far from any possibility of return on their investment for advertisers. Worse, while these guides could be perfectly recovered and placed, in the absence of wanting to distribute them, in paper and cardboard recycling containers, they are allowed to end up in landfills. A shame and a scandal for the environment, but especially for the advertisers and those who pay to pass in this guide which, in the end, will be found only partially in the hands of potential customers. At Gay Globe Magazine, we never throw magazines. There is no overprint and nothing is in the trash because advertisers are entitled to respect and a return on their investment. It’s basic, it seems to me!
