The world’s most visited social network, Facebook by Meta, announced yesterday, July 15, that it has increased the distribution of articles and content published on the Gay Globe page, available at https://www.facebook.com/GayGlobe, due to the high quality and relevance of its publications.

The message stated: “You’re reaching a wider audience. We increased your distribution because you frequently post high-quality content.”

Usually, this kind of boost from Facebook happens after paying for a sponsored post or purchasing ad credits. But in our case, without any request on our part, Facebook—after reviewing our thousands of posts over the years—decided to change our distribution model, opening the door to a much larger readership, to the benefit of our readers, partners, and advertisers.

Facebook explains its criteria as follows: this message (from Facebook or rather Meta) is an automatic notification sent to page admins and content creators to encourage them to keep posting.

In practice, this means that:

Facebook has expanded the organic reach of our posts, meaning they’re shown to more people without any payment.

They want to reward content that generates engagement (likes, shares, comments).

It’s also an incentive: they show you that your efforts are paying off to motivate you to post even more often.

In reality, this can be true—high-performing content often gets an algorithmic “boost”—but it remains above all a retention and motivation strategy for creators.

Congratulations to our media group and to all our contributors, journalists, and columnists, whose work ensures our publications remain consistently interesting, relevant, and exclusive!
